Description
Cedrelone, also called 14,15-Epoxy-6-hydroxy-1,5-meliacadiene-3,7-dione, is a natural plant triterpenoid isolated from the barks of Cedrela toona.
Cedrelone inhibits proliferation, migration, adhesion and invasion of breast tumor cells from the line MDA-MB-231. The effects of cell migration and invasion on MDA-MB-231 cell may be explained, at least in part, by the ability of cedrelone to inhibit MMP activity. Cedrelone can also induce apoptosis in MDA-MB-231 cells.
