The basic principle of simulated moving bed adsorption is similar to that of adsorption and desorption moving bed, and its main feature is that the adsorption bed is fixed and the position of the material port is continuously changed to simulate the counter-current contact between solid adsorbent and liquid. It connects multiple chromatographic columns with multi-bit valves and tubes, and each column is equipped with the inlet and outlet of the sample, and changes the inlet and outlet position of the sample by continuously changing forward along the flow direction of the mobile phase by multi-bit valves, so as to simulate the counter-current movement between the stationary phase and the mobile phase and realize the continuous separation of the two components.
BOC Sciences' simulated moving bed (SMB) chromatography can be used to develop new processes or for scale-up installations. Here, we can develop new applications and perform testing for our customers. We perform trials and pre-studies of laboratory-scale simulated moving bed (SMB) chromatography, whose compact design is particularly suitable for small-volume separation tasks.
Potential applications range from conventional simulated moving bed SMB separations for the natural products industry to innovative processes for the fine chemistry and biotechnology industries. We can support you every step of the way: from process development in our mobile laboratory, to pilot facilities and turnkey plant installations.
