Description
Ursolic acid is a natural pentacyclic triterpenoid carboxylic acid displaying antitumor activity. It was shown to downregulate the MMP-2 and uPA expression, and also inhibit Na+/K+-ATPase activity (IC50 = 24.7 μM) as well as NF-κB activation in various cancer cell lines. Ursolic acid can induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Ursolic acid also has obvious antioxidant function, so it is widely used as a raw material for medicine and cosmetics.
