Description
Quercetin is a flavonoid found in galangal and is used as an antitumor agent that induces apoptosis of cancer cells. It acts as a PI 3-kinase and protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor, and inhibits tyrosine protein kinase, phospholipase A2, phosphodiesterases and mitochondrial ATPase. It also suppresses Ca2+ and K+ channels, and activates GPR30. Quercetin has antioxidant, antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects, and it can be used in cosmetics material.
