Description
Luteolin is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and free radical scavenger. Luteolin inhibits LPS-induced TNF-α, IL-6 and inducible nitric oxide production and blocks NF-κB and AP-1 activation. It also inhibits TNF-α-induced COX-2 expression, and phosphodiesterase with with Ki of 15.0 μM, 6.4 μM, 13.9 μM, 11.1 μM and 9.5 μM for PDE1-5 respectively. It inhibits proliferation of Lewis lung carcinoma cells in vivo. Luteolin is a natural compound found in the leaves of Dracocephalum ruyschiana L. It can be used in cosmetics material.
