Description
Lecanoric acid, a natural phenol from the herbs of Parmelia tinctorum Despr, exhibits the activity of inhibiting prostaglandin synthetase and delayed-type hypersensitivity responses against sheep red blood cells in mice, and at 100 μg/ml conc. Lecanoric acid shows high growth stimulating activity in terms of increased dry matter of biomass (56.08 mg) of L. casei. Lecanoric acid analogues antagonizes several enzymic and cellular effects of the tumour promoter.
