Cycloheterophyllin

Cycloheterophyllin is found in fruits and is extracted from the herbs of Artocarpus heterophyllus. It inhibits neutrophil cytosolic protein kinase C (PKC) and rat brain PKC by the O2- generation in rat neutrophils. It also inhibits arachidonic acid (AA)-induced platelet aggregation. It shows free radical scavenging activity and antioxidant properties. It inhibits ultraviolet A (UVA)-induced oxidative stress and damage. It may be used as a photoprotective agent and used in the prevention and research of skin photoaging.
