Description

Carpachromene is isolated from the herbs of Garcinia xanthochymus. Carpachromene shows significant α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Carpachromene blocks protein expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in LPS-stimulated macrophages, thus it could be a potential anti-inflammatory agent. Carpachromene exhibits significant cytotoxicity against HepG2, PLC/PRF/5 and Raji cancer cell lines in vitro.
