Description
Ailanthoidol is isolated from the barks of Zanthoxylum ailanthoides. Ailanthoidol possesses potential as a chemopreventive agent against tumor promotion. Ailanthoidol has anti-adipogenic activity that suppresses adipogenesis and it exerts its role mainly through the significant down-regulation of PPARγ and C/EBPα expression. Ailanthoidol has anti-inflammatory activity that inhibits inflammatory reactions by macrophages and protects mice from endotoxin shock.
