Description

5,7-Dihydroxy-3-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybenzyl)-6,8-dimethylchroman-4-one is a natural compound isolated from the fibrous root of Ophiopogon japonicus. It shows strong cytotoxic activity on HeLa-S3 cell. It has oxygen free radicals (OFRs) scavenging effects, and can scavenge hydroxyl radical(·OH) as well as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in vitro.
