Description

4β-Hydroxywithanolide E is a steroid isolated from Physalis peruviana. 4β-Hydroxywithanolide E was shown to inhibit growth of human lung cancer cells via DNA damage, apoptosis and G2/M arrest. It also modulates the alternative splicing of various apoptotic genes, including HIPK3, SMAC/DIABLO, and SURVIVIN, suggesting its potential to be an antitumor agent.
