16-Hydroxycleroda-3,13-dien-15,16-olide is extracted from the unripe fruits of Polyalthia longifolia var. pendula. It is used as a candidate for autophagy inducers which can cause cell death in an alternative or supplement medicine for cancer therapy. It displays promising NO inhibitory activity at 10 ug/mL and shows anti-inflammatory activity. It induces apoptosis in CML K562 cells and regulates the expression of histone-modifying enzymes PRC2 complex.
